With all of the activity recently in Tewksbury in historic homes in secluded Mountainville settings, we’re thrilled to have the opportunity to help the owners of this property find its new owners. Photographing it today was a sensory delight – we heard the babbling stream in the background, we smelled the enormous mature stands of peonies, we enjoyed the views from every window, and even the pumpkin pine floors felt lovely underfoot as we moved from room to room.
Modern updates and historic features blend seamlessly throughout this home whose rooms can be used in different ways. Would you use the keeping room as a dining room, family room, or extension of the kitchen? Would you use the extra space in the living room as a dining area or an additional sitting area or office nook? On the second floor, you could have two bedrooms or a single bedroom with an adjacent dressing room or sitting room. On the ground level, would you use the bedroom with separate entrance and family room as a suite for an in-law, adult child, or au pair or simply as an office adjacent to the family room?
With so many possible ways to live in the house and its spectacular natural setting, we invite you to visit this property to see for yourself if it would be a place for you to call home. $549,000.

We had an UNBELIEVABLE outpouring of interest on this stone home in the Mountainville section of town. Because of the amazing number of buyers who visited the home, we were able to find the perfect buyers who appreciated both the rustic charm as well as the modern updates that make the house one of our favorite homes in Tewksbury. Congratulations, J & L on the sale of your wonderful home to our new neighbors, T & P. We are so happy that were able to find you buyers who clearly will love the home as much as you did!

The sale of this home has a special place in our real estate hearts. Prior to connecting these buyers and sellers, the sellers had been frustrated with the outcome of their efforts to sell their property — after lots of agent showings and well-attended open houses, they still didn’t have an offer that was acceptable to them, so they took their house off the market for a break. Relocating from overseas, the buyers had viewed scores of properties in the Tewksbury/Mendham/Somerset Hills area and were frustrated that they couldn’t find a property that fit what they were looking for. After introducing the buyers to the sellers, it was clear that we had a match that benefitted everyone — the buyers found a home that was a far better fit than anything else they had seen before and the sellers were able to complete their move without disrupting their household to market their home.
Congratulations to P.B. and J.D. on the sale of their home and we welcome A.W. and S.W. and their family and congratulate them on purchasing a home in Tewksbury.

Please help us spread the word about this very special property. It’s one of those homes that locals know just from driving the scenic roads in town because it has such great curb appeal. What’s not completely obvious from the view from the road is that while cute and charming, this home is larger than it looks from the road and has wonderful cosmetic and systems updates that strike the perfect balance between historic charm and modern conveniences (it’s nice to have a country setting, stone walls and patios, but also a high-BTU gas stove, updated bathrooms, and central air conditioning, etc!).
